About Myanmar Phenakite:
Phenakite is a rare beryllium silicate prized by both mineral collectors and energy workers. It has an extremely high refractive index, giving it diamond-like luster and fire. The Mogok region of Myanmar is the world’s premier source for gem-quality Phenakite crystals.
This piece shows the classic short-prismatic to rhombohedral habit with multiple sharp faces and excellent transparency. The luster is intense — Phenakite is noticeably brighter than Quartz or Topaz. At 16mm across, this is a superb thumbnail specimen with great presence for its size.
